Trail Program Highlight: Celebrating Our Conservation Corps
In celebration of AmeriCorps Week and in the spirit of “getting things done,” we’re highlighting our Conservation Corps! This program is dedicated to training the next generation of environmental stewards to preserve the integrity of trails and natural areas and engage volunteers to inspire a deeper appreciation for the care that open space requires.
Each year from May through October, the Trail Conference recruits and trains a number of Americorps members who serve on trail crews building and repairing trails in Northern New Jersey and the New York Hudson Valley. In this Trail Insider webinar you will find out more about the work our trail crews do, how projects are selected, the Welch Trail Education Center, challenges and success of the program.
