The maps are printed in vibrant color on waterproof and tear-resistant Tyvek, and are a must-have for enjoying and exploring the rich network of trails in Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks. The 2023 revision includes several trail updates, including a temporary detour of the Appalachian Trail and Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail around Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, a relocated section of the Appalachian Trail on Surebridge Mountain, and the new Jones Point Path trail. The entire network of trails has been redrawn based on more recent GPS data, and other improvements include viewpoint star updates and additions, parking access updates, and updates to the Fort Montgomery area.
All maps include detailed junction-to-junction trail mileage numbers, 20-foot elevation contour lines, parking areas and public transportation information, viewpoints and other points of interest, UTM gridlines, and tables of detailed trail information.
